Drescher, Martha (Marriage - 10 June 1926)

Miss Martha Drescher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernhard Drescher, and Mr. Wesley Henke of Lowell, Dodge Co., Wis., son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Henke were married Thursday, June 10th, at 11a.m., at the home of the bride’s parents two and one half miles southeast of Chili. Rev. G. E. Zellmer, pastor of the Evangelical Church near Chili, officiating, with Mr. and Mrs. E. Drescher brother to the bride as witnesses. The beautiful wedding march was played by Mrs. Schlinsog, sister of the bride. The room was very tastily decorated to meet the occasion.

The bride was becomingly dressed in a gown of tan canton crepe and carried a bouquet of roses, sweet peas and carnations. Immediately following the ceremony, a wedding feast was enjoyed by some 30 guests. The bride grew to womanhood here , is an accomplished young woman who will grace and dignify the home her husband has prepared for her on his farm near Lowell.

Among the out of town guests attending the wedding were the groom’s parents and his sister, Miss Ann Handke of Lowell, Miss Martha Orenrude of Madison and the bride’s sister, Miss Elsie Drescher of Milwaukee.

The bridal pair left for their new home by auto on Friday, amidst the congratulations and well wishes of a host of admiring relatives and friends.
