Schwantes, Myrtle (Jun 1928)

A very pretty wedding took place at 8 o'clock p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Spencer, Wis., when Miss Myrtle Schwantes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Schwantes of Spencer was united in marriage to Mr. George Greeler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Greeler of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. The ceremony was performed by Rev. A. C. Staple of Spencer.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, and she wore a beautiful frock of white satin, trimmed with beads and rhinestones; a train veil trimmed with Spanish lace was worn with a crown fixed with beads, pearls and rhinestones; and carried a shower bouquet of pink and yellow roses and sweet peas. Miss Hilda Schwantes of Spencer acted as maid of honor. She wore a pretty dress of salmon georgette trimmed with beads and rhinestones and wore a corsage bouquet of roses, sweet peas and snapdragons. The groom wore a dark blue suit. Mr. Donald Schwantes of Minneapolis, who acted as best man, was also dressed in a dark blue suit.

A small reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, where the rooms were decorated in pink and white. Miss Marilyn Schwantes, Miss Laurena Mattes and Miss Frances Mattes were the table waitresses. They were dressed in white.

The bride is a graduate of Spencer High School and Stevens Point Normal and taught three years. She is well known in the vicinity of Spencer and is liked and respected by all who know her.

The groom is an honorable and respectable young man of Neillsville, and has spent most of his life here.

The young couple are spending their honeymoon at Indianapolis, Ind.; Sioux City, Iowa; Harvard, Ill; and other places on their way. The newlyweds will make their home at Spencer after July 1st.
