Fire destroyed the house on the Haffner farm north of town Wednesday afternoon, destroying nearly all of the property of Curtiss Markham and family who were living there and working the place. The family, with what little stuff was saved, have moved in with their daughter, Mrs. Langley. A pitiable thing about the fire was the fact that the Seyler dog known as "Snap" refused to leave the burning building and held its position on a chair while it was burned to ashes.
