Flora, Lyla (5 JAN 1927)

A pretty wedding took place at the Ed Karlen Jr. home on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 1927, when Lyla Flora, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Flora of Eidsvold, Clark County, Wis., became the bride of Herman Karlen of Gerring Neb., son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Karlen Sr., of Thorp.

The bride wore a dress of white flat crepe trimmed with pearl beads, and a bridal wreath and veil. She carried a beautiful bouquet of roses and baby breath.

Bridesmaids were her two sisters, Luella and Norma. Luella wore an orange crepe de chine dress and Norma wore a rose crepe de chine dress. Both carried beautiful bouquets of carnations and roses.

The groom's attendants were Walter Rasmussen and Everett Boardman.

After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served to near relatives of both parties.

Mr. and Mrs. Karlen left for Gerring, Neb., where they will make their future home, Mr. Karlen being employed there as cheesemaker for the last five months.
