Micke, Henry (12 Jan 1860 - 28 DEC 1929)

 

Henry Micke died at his home in the town of Worden, Clark County, Wis. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 1929, after an extended illness of cancer. Deceased was born at Hollandtown, Wis., on Jan. 12, 1860, and had reached the age of 69 years, 11 months and 16 days. Upon reaching manhood he was united in marriage to Miss Helen Koberson at Hollandtown and thirty-four years ago came to Thorp, Clark County, Wis., where they have continued to reside. Besides his wife he leaves to mourn, two sons, William and Leo of Milwaukee, three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Welk and Miss Katherine Micke of Milwaukee, Mrs. Mary Peyton of Los Angeles, Calif., and two brothers, Barney Micke of Dundas, Wis., and Theo. Micke of Hollandtown; also three sisters, Mrs. George Onkels and Mrs. Mike Whitman of Hollandtown and Sister Cunnigunda, Clinton, Ind.

 

The funeral took place on Tuesday morning from St. Bernard's Church, Father A. M. Muckerheide officiating, after which the body was taken to Milwaukee for interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.

 

The Micke Family is pictured below (ca. 1920) This photo is from the collection of Mrs. Robert Benzschawel. It was taken on the home farm of the Micke's which has remained in the family for at least four generations. Mrs. Robert Benzschawel, is Veronica Micke Benzschawel 1907-1993 and would have been a 2nd cousin 1x removed of Henry Micke 1860-1929.
