Pierce, Frank (28 MAR 1861 - 2 NOV 1909)

Many expressions of sympathy for the wife and family were heard Tuesday morning when it was learned that Frank Pierce had died after a week's illness with erysipelas. It was known that he was seriously ill but hopes were held of his recovery. The funeral was held at the F. M. Church Thursday afternoon and was attended by a large congregation, Rev. Good officiating. The burial was in the Mentor Cemetery.

Franklin Pierce was born in Michigan on the 28th day of March 1861, and died at his home in this village Nov. 2, 1909, aged 48 years, 7 months and 14 days. He moved with his parents when a child to Menomonie, living there but a short time and then moved to Beef River. About twenty years ago he moved to Humbird and had made his home here nearly ever since.

He was united in marriage to Miss Julia Buckley March 22, 1889. To them were born ten children of whom two girls died in infancy.

Mr. Pierce was an industrious, hard working man and was respected by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his sad death, a wife, eight children, three sisters, five brothers, besides a number of nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to mention.
