Willard--Laabs Cheese Factory
Although, there is no paper record of cheesemakers, some residents remembered them as being: Mr. Koenig, Bob Roder, Bob Casper, Beyer Neuman, and George Meyers, with Mirko Pakiz as the bookkeeper.
This factory was built in 1914, and was originally named Willard Cooperative Dairy. It burned down in 1920, and was rebuilt. In 1929, the factory was sold to Emil Mech, who ran it until 1935. He then sold it to Laabs Dairy Co., of Curtiss, WI It closed in the late 1960's.
