Vogel, Frank (30 SEP 1879 - 16 JAN 1927)
Mr. Frank Vogel was born in Wood County, Wis., Sept. 30, 1879. On the 18th of June in the year 1901, he was united in marriage to Miss Lyda Clouse of Loyal, Clark County, Wis. To this union five children were born, two preceding their father in death.
After his marriage they made their home in Loyal, up to about a year ago, when his wife and family moved to Milwaukee. On Jan. 6th he was operated on for appendicitis at the General Hospital in Milwaukee. It was thought that Mr. Vogel was getting along fine up until a few days before his death when he turned for the worse. On Jan. 16th, 1927 he was summoned to his home beyond.
The deceased was a man of business ability and made a success of most anything that his hands undertook to do; his labors were many and toil was not stranger to him. He was a man who would not permit himself to brood over the reverses of life, but saw the sliver lining in every dark cloud. He was no pessimist, but an optimist, cheerful, jovial and considerate, a good neighbor and friend, a law abiding citizen and a man who provided well for his family.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, one son, James, two daughters, Mrs. Budtke and Mrs. Degenhardt, his mother, six brothers and five sisters, besides a host of friends.
The body was shipped to Loyal from Milwaukee and funeral services were held from the Methodist Church, Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 19th, Wilson Mallory of Granton officiating. Interment took place in the Loyal Cemetery.
The Tribune joins with the many friends of the bereaved family in extending their sympathy.
