Mueller, Mary (13 Aug. 1857 - 25 July 1930)

Mrs. Jacob Mueller died at her home on the North Side, Friday, July 25, after a brief illness from heart disease.

Mary Wiltgen was born at Port Washington, Wis., Aug. 13, 1857, and had reached the age of 72 year, 11 months and 12 days. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wiltgen; when she was a young girl the family moved to near Marshfield where she grew to womanhood. In 1882 she was married to Peter Marx at Marshfield. Soon after they came to Neillsville to live, making this place their home for about 23 years. They then went to West Branch, Mich., where Mr. Marx died two years later. She then came back to Neillsville where she was married to Jacob Mueller two years later. Mr. Mueller died Jan. 20, 1821. For a time she continued to live here and then went to Superior to keep house for a brother Matt Wiltgen. He died on June 30; on July 16 she came back here intending to maker home here permanently but was taken suddenly ill on Thursday and passes away the next day.

Mrs. Mueller was a most kind hearted lady; a good neighbor; and always thoughtful and considerate of those about her. She is mourned by a large circle of friends.

She leaves no children of her own and all her brother sand sisters preceded her in death. She is survived by the following named stepchildren: Catherine, Mrs. Geo. Pettera of Wauzeca, Wis.; Matt Mueller of Madison; Gertrude, Mrs. Harry Evelyn; Helen, Mrs. Bert Chase; Theresa, Mrs. Elmer Richardson, all of Milwaukee; also several nephews and nieces.

The funeral was held Tuesday morning from the home of Mrs. John Marx and at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. Peter Weber officiating. Burial took place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Matt Mueller and children of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Chase and Mrs. . Elmer Richardson of Milwaukee; Mrs. Chas. Swain of Superior; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rabe, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Wiltgen, Mrs. John Wiltgen and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kohlbeck, all of Marshfield.
