Babcock, Annette C. (18 May 1857 - 27 July 1930)

Mrs. Charles Babcock passed away at 6:30 o’clock July 27, 1930, at the home of her daughter Grace, Mrs. Wm. Wallace, in Janesville, at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 8 days. Annette C. Burdick was born in Scott, Courtland County, New York, May 18, 1857. She was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Burdick. On Nov. 7, 1877 she was married to Charles Babcock. Four years later they came to Wisconsin and settled near Neillsville, remaining here until illness necessitated giving up their home to live with their children. Mr. Babcock died Oct. 14, 1929.

Mrs. Babcock was a lady of lovable qualities, kind and helpful to all about her and in a quiet way fulfilled the duties of the home and lent a helping hand in the community.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wallace of Janesville, before mentioned and Estelle, Mrs. Edw. Schroeder of Granton. She leaves also six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The funeral was held July 30 at Granton, Rev. S. J. Lambright officiating. Burial took place in the Neillsville cemetery.
