Evans, Ruby (Marriage - 17 Sept. 1930)
Mr. Dewey Zittleman and Miss Ruby Evans were quietly married at Austin, Minn., Sept. 17, Rev. Martens of that city officiating. The marriage came as something of a surprise to most of their friends here, who did not learn of it till after several days. They returned last week Wednesday and on Thursday evening a large group of neighbors and friends gathered at the Evans home and gave the bride and groom a lively serenade. They were will rewarded by being served a big lunch, with abundant ice cream.
Mr. Zittleman has been employed as one of the testers at Neillsville Condensery for the past three and a half years, previously working for some time in the condensery at Owen. His original home was at Menomonie, Wis. He is an efficient and courteous gentleman and is very popular with all who know him.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. George Evans, who lives south of Neillsville. She grew to womanhood here, graduating from Neillsville high school in the class of 1919, and for several years taught school with marked success in rural and state graded schools. Since her father’s death she has remained at home with her mother. She is a young lady of exceptionally fine personality and is much admired and like in this community.
At present they are making their home with the bride’s mother.
