On July 21st 1918 he was called to the colors and enrolled in Co. I. 341st Inf.. He started for France Sept. 9th and later was transferred to Co. The deceased was of a quiet and retiring nature and was an industrious young man of good habits, having the respect of everyone. He died as a brave soldier that the world might be safe for democracy.
