Sharp, Esther Leota (Marriage - 7 May 1931)

Mr. Bernard A. Dodte and Miss Esther Leota Sharp were united in marriage on Thursday, May 7, at the home of the bride’s brother, De. Darrell Sharpt in Mondovi, Rev. Geo. W. Longenecker officiating.

The bride and groom were attended by the bride’s brother and sister, Mr. Manly Sharp and Miss Lucille Sharp. The bride and her sister carried arm bouquets and were dressed to harmonize with the color scheme of the room decorations -- blue and gold. Mrs. Fuller sang "At Dawning."

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Sharp. She graduated from Evansville Seminary, Evansville, Wis., and from the Teachers’ Training Course in Neillsville high school, later attending Wheaton College at Wheaton, Ill. She has taught with success in the schools of this county, the present school year teaching the Hiawatha School in Pine Valley. She is a young lady of refinement and pleasant personality.

Mr. Dodte grew up on the home farm in Pine Valley, his parents being Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dodte, now deceased. He graduated from Neillsville high school and taught school a year in South Dakota. His father’s health failed and he came home to take charge of the farm. In 1923 he took the Short Course in Agriculture in the State University and since then has continued to carry on the farm. He is a young man of energy and intelligence and brings to this farm work the results of his practical farm experience and his scientific training in the schools. His heard which ranks fourth in Wisconsin, has received state and national recognition by Holstein-Friesian Associations. About a year ago the honor of Master Farmer was conferred upon him by the Agricultural College. A man and citizen he commands the respect of all who know him.

The bride and groom left after the wedding for a trip to Cable, Wis., and other points in the northern part of the state.

Those from here who attended the wedding were: Judge and Mrs. O. W. Schoengarth, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Beilfuss, Miss Clarice Dodte, Miss Lucille Sharp, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sharp and Rev. and Mrs. G. W. Longenecker, and Mr. and Mrs. Manley Sharp of Chippewa Falls.
