Skar, Thonetta (Marriage - 9 June 1931)

A very pretty June marriage was performed Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock on June 9th, at the Norwegian Lutheran parsonage at Stanley, Wisconsin, when Miss Thonetta Skar, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Skar of Birchwood, Wis., became the bride of Odin Elmer Wang, oldest son of Mr. Ole Wang of Stanley. The Rev. J. N. Midtlien officiated at the ceremony.

The bride was gowned in an ankle-length sleeveless gown of orchid chiffon prettily trimmed with net and pearls and carried an arm bouquet of pink roses and sweet peas.

Mrs. Walter Trimberger, sister of the bride was matron of honor and the groom was attended by the bride’s brother-in-law, Mr. Walter Trimberger.

The bride will be remembered as one of Clark County’s prominent teachers and in the past year taught in the Reseburg state graded school.

The groom is highly respected young man of Stanley, was a former University of Wisconsin student of the 53rd Cavalry which is located at Stanley and of which he has been a member for several years.

The happy couple left immediately on a motor trip to the Twin Cities, the Dakotas and other point and on their return will be at home to their many friends on the groom’s farm located five miles south of Stanley.
