Happe, Wesley

Funeral services for Wesley Happe, 21, a former resident of the town of Fremont, who was instantly killed in an auto accident Wednesday night near Ripon, were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Evangelical Churh at Ripon.

The Rev. Mr. Dieckkvoss, Ripon, officiated at the rites and was assisted by the Rev. G W Zimmerman, Brodhead; the Rev. E A Happe, Batavia; the Rev. Harvey Bandt, Prairie Farm; and the Rev. Mr. Firtsch, Ripon. Burial was made in the Ripon cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Happe and the Rev Mr. Bandt were uncles of the deceased.

Pallbearers were Marvin Schultz, Dennis Page, Donald Guenther, Benjamin Dieckvoss, Ray Zelmer, and Gordon Zimdars, all of Ripon. Flower girls were Grace Kuehn, Isabelle Giffey, Rowene Lindow, Verna Happe, Marian Happe and Wava Guenther.

Wesley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Happe Sr., was born Dec 9, 1916, in the town of Fremont. He attended Cozy Corner School, was a graduate of Granton High School with the class of '34, a graduate of the Neillsville Teacher Training School with the class of '35 and had taught near Stanley for two and a half years.

He was a member of Immanuel's Evangelical Church at Chili until his transfer to Ripon. He was also affiliated with the young People's League of Christian Endeavor, and had taken active part in Sunday School activities.

In April, his parents moved to Ripon and in June he joined them, spending the summer there. He was preparing to enter Naperville College at Naperville, IL, this fall.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. an Mrs. Arthur Happe Sr; two brothers, Oliver Happe, Chili, and Arthur Happe Jr., Ripon; a sister, Lucille Happe, Ripon; maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. William Bandt Sr; and his paternal grandfather, C A Happe, Chili.
