Withee-Dec. 6th--Mrs. William Atkin, 56, a resident of the town of Hixton since 1900, died Sunday after an illness of two years' duration.

The funeral will be held Wednesday with the Rev. WP Powell of Owen conducting the services. Interment will be made at Riverside cemetery, Withee. Pallbearers will be Sam Munson, William Arndt, William Kaskin, William Wood, ADolph Kovar and Stanley Zawatski. Flower girls will be Caroline, Marjorie and Jennie Price, and Adeline Bunk.

Nellie Anthonette Wenzel was born Jan. 17, 1876, in Sheboygan County where she was reared to womanhood and where, in 1897, she was married to William Atkin. They came to Withee in 1900 and carved a home out of the wilderness, being among the first settlers in the town of Hixon.

Surviving are the husband, a daughter, Mrs. Charles Kangas, Nekoosa; a son, Harold, and daughter, Adaline, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Peter N. Hansen and Mrs. Harry O. Hansen, Withee, and Mrs. Ernest W. Lee, Chili; and a brother, John E. Wenzel, Withee.
