McNaul, Herbert (January 20, 1885-July 5, 1941)

Funeral services for Herbert McNaul, 56, who died Wednesday morning at a Madison hospital, were conducted Saturday afternoon, July 5. Mr. McNaul had been a patient at the hospital for the past 10 days. The Rev. James Irish, Thorp, officiated at the rites at the home. Burial took place a the Yolo cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robert Frantz, George Burdick, Newt Toptine, Harry Albrecht, Wheeler Forman and William Foote. Flower girls were Mrs. Newt Toptine, Mrs. Jake Hartman, and Mrs. Robert Frantz.

Lloyd Herbert McNaul, son of Lloyd and Adelia McNaul, was born in Fayette County, Iowa, Jan. 20, 1885. In 1886 he came with his parents to Waushara County, Wis., and in 1908 moved to Chili, where he had since resided.

He had carried mail on the rural route out of Chili for the past 24 years until he recently took a leave of absence because of illness. He was a member of the Rural Letter Carrier’s Association and of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and was a past noble grandmaster of the Neillsville Lodge of that organization.

Surviving him are his widow, Eunice McNaul, two daughters, Evah Wimer of Thorp, and Ruby Baitinger of Ripon, and one son Burdett, of Chili; a granddaughter, Shirley Wimer, and one grandson, Jerold McNaul; three sisters, Mrs. Addie Rich, of Ripon, Mrs. Florence Baitinger of Picketts and Mrs. Bernice Van Kirk of Adell, two half-brothers, William and Jesse McNaul, of the State of Washington, and one half sister, Alice Atkins, of Santa Ana, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
