Nov.20.1937 West Fremont--Celebration of the 56th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. William Bandt Sr., Chili, provided the occasion for a family dinner and supper Saturday at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Happe Sr., town of Fremont.

Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bandt and sons, Harvey Jr. and Myron, Prairie Farm; Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Happe and son, Douglas, Chili; Wesley Happe, Stanley; Lucille Happe, Granton; Arthur Happe Jr. ad Mr. and Mrs. William Bandt and sons Melvin, Wilmer, and Franklin, town of Fremont.

Mr. and Mrs. Bandt were married at Germania, WI on Nov. 20, 1881, and resided at Coloma for three years after their marriage before returning to Germania, where they made their home for 37 years. Sixteen years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Bandt and their sons, William Jr. and Harvey, purchased a farm in the town of Fremont, where their son, William and family, now reside.

Mr. Bandt Sr. retired from farming about five years ago, and since that time the couple have resided in Chili and vicinity.

Mrs. Bandt was born at Germania in Waushara county on Dec. 24, 1858, at Princeton, Green Lake County. Mrs. Bandt has been an active member of the Ladies Aid and the Woman's Missionary societies for the past 16 years.

Five children were born to them, of which three are living: William Jr., on the home farm; Harvey, Prairie Farm; and Mrs. Arthur Happe Sr., town of Fremont.

Mr. and Mrs. Bandt are still keeping house for themselves and are active despite advanced age.
