Burr, Mathilda "Tillie" Ann (10 Oct. 1909 - 12 Nov. 2004)

NEILLSVILLE - Mathilda "Tillie" Ann Burr, 95, of Neillsville, passed away Nov. 12, 2004, at the Angelus Retirement Community, surrounded by her loving family.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Tillie at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.

Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Tillie's family with the arrangements.

Mathilda 'Tillie' Burr

NEILLSVILLE - Mathilda "Tillie" Ann Burr, 95, of Neillsville passed away Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Angelus Retirement Community, surrounded by her loving family.

Tillie was born Oct. 10, 1909, the daughter of Nickalous and Catherine Freund (Gerhartz) in McIntire, Iowa. She came with her parents to Bakerville, where she attended St. Mary's School. As a young girl she did housework and attended vocation school in Marshfield. On July 12, 1932, she married Raymond Burr, and they came to Neillsville in 1940.

She was director of St. Mary's lunch program for 21 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Parish Council of Catholic Women, St. Jude's Circle and St. Teresa's Mission Club, and was a charter member of Neillsville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Cooking, gardening, quilting and crocheting were her favorite hobbies.

She is survived by her children, Ruth (Wayne) Kronberger of Neillsville, Kenneth (Lila) Burr of Marshfield and twin daughters Dolores (Don) Dahlke of Janesville and Donna Yakesh of Bloomer; 28 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Tillie was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, in 1991; a son, Donald Burr; two grandchildren; her brothers, Walter and Edwin Freund; and a sister, Susie Feuerstein.

A funeral Mass will be held for Tillie at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Woodrow Pace will be the celebrant. Ronald Resong will be organist and St. Mary's Choir will provide music.

Visitation will be at Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers will be Tillie's grandsons, Mark Kronberger, Craig Kronberger, Tom Yakesh, Gary Yakesh, Jim Yakesh and Steven Dahlke.

In lieu of flowers, memorials May be directed to Black River Falls Memorial Hospice.

Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Tillie's family with the arrangements.
