Oelrich, Ted (17 SEP 1917 - 4 OCT 2004)
Ted Oelrich. 87, Minocqua, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at Seasons of Life Hospice House. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Minocqua. The Rev. Eugene Kock officiated. Burial was at 3:30 p.m. in North Spencer Cemetery, Spencer.
Ted Oelrich was born Sept. 17, 1917, in Spencer, to Frank and Minnie Oelrich. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1935. He married Virgean Zopfi on July 25, 1942. In January 1942, he was drafted into the Army. He served in Africa and Italy until late 1945. He received the Service Ribbon with five battle stars. After service, he farmed his father’s farm in Spencer for 12 years, then worked for Weyerhaeuser for 20 years. He retired in 1976, and then moved to Minocqua. His first wife died in 1966, and then in 1972, he married Anne Krohn, Spencer.
Survivors include his wife, Anne; three daughters, Sandee [Darvid] Potz, Las Vegas, Marge Grieser, Wisconsin Rapids, and Bev Oelrich, Trafalgar, Ind.; one son, Bob [Sandy] Oelrich, Abbotsford; one step daughter, Barbara [Brian] Brunner, Kent, Wash.; four grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Lilian [Al] Johnsrud, and Bonnie [Bill] Plath.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife; an infant daughter, two sisters, Marion [Norbert] Boock, and Eleanor [John] Reineking; and two brothers, Elmer [Dorothy] Wilmer [? Oelrich], and Wilmer [Norma] Oelrich. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Minocqua.
Bolger Funeral and Cremation Services assisted the family with arrangements.
