Laube, Richard L. (2 JUN 1922 - 19 NOV 2004)

Richard L. Laube, 71, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen. The Rev. Eric Linzmaier and the Rev. Al Jakubowski officiated.

Richard L. Laube was born June 2, 1933, in Owen, to Henry and Minnie [nee Franz] Laube. He married Harriet Plummer on Sept. 7, 1954. They owned and operated a 300-acre dairy farm south of Owen for 30 years. They retired and moved to the city of Owen in 1992. He was active in Holy rosary Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Owen-Withee Lions Club, Owen Young Farmers Union Cenex Cooperative, River Country Cooperative of Clark/Chippewa County, Owen-Withee Bowmans Club, Owen-Withee Rod and Gun Club, Owen-Withee Development Corporation, and an associate of the Owen-Curtis Bank Board. He was a 4-H project leader, and a member of the Clark County 4-H Leaders Federation Board. His interests included following his sons athletics in high school and college. Blackhawk sports, hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends at his cabin on Lake Holcombe, and building a log hunting cabin with his sons.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Harriet Laube, Owen, four sons, Terry [Cathy] Laube, Owen, Jeff [Janelle] Laube, Eau Claire, Keith [Sara] Laube, Eau Claire, and Dean [Penny] Laube, Fall Creek; 11 grandchildren, two sisters, Edna [Virgil] Bublitz, Owen, Bernice [Edward] Potocnik, Owen; and one brother, Harold [Fern] Laube, Owen.
