Haselow, Ernestine (21 Jul 1901 - 17 Mar 2004)

Ernestine Haselow, 102, Colby, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at the Colonial Center, Colby. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Loyal. Pallbearers were Art Brearly, Wayne Brearly, Michael Brearley, Eugene Lucht, Linda Morgan and Evan Morgan.

Ernestine Sorenson, the middle child of seven, was born on July 31, 1901, in the town of Spencer, to Andrew and Marie [nee Iverson] Sorenson. She received her education in the Spencer schools and the State Teachers College in Wausau. She taught in Spokeville School where She roomed at the William and Bertha Haselow home and met her future husband. She married Edwin Haselow on March 26, 1924. They settled in a farm in the town of Sherman where they lived until Edwin died. She then went into a partnership in a dress shop in Loyal. When she retired, she moved to Spencer.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen [Arthur] Brearley, Winfield, Ill.; three grandchildren, Wayne [Janice] Brearley, Michael [Lauren] Brearley, and Linda Morgan; four great-grandchildren, Evan Morgan, James Morgan, Lana Brearley, and Allyson Brearley; and a sister-in-law, Ivy Sorenson, Marshfield.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Edwin Haselow, on Dec. 27, 1959; three brothers; and three sisters.

Community Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family w3ith arrangements.
