Mrs. Geraldine Sturgeon

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from St. Mary's Catholic Church for Mrs. Geraldine Gault Sturgeon, 64, of Anaheim, California, who died Friday in Minneapolis, Minn. while en route from Superior to Anaheim. The Rev. George M. Nelson officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Sturgeon, the former Geraldine Farning, was born January 18, 1903, in Clark County, the daughter of the late William and Lugardia (Jacklin) Farning, long-time residents of Neillsville. She was a graduate of Neillsville High School and for many years was employed as a clerk at the Farmer's Store.

Her marriage to Merrill Gault took place in August, 1923. Mr. Gault died in 1937. In 1944 she was married to Frank Sturgeon, who died in 1964.

She was a Neillsville resident until 1944, when she moved to Superior, and later to Owen. In 1959, the family moved to California.

Mrs. Sturgeon had been hospitalized from Thanksgiving day to Christmas in a Superior hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.

She was a member of St. Phillip's Catholic Church in Fullerton, California, and the C.C.D.

Survivors include nine children: Mrs. John (Shirley) Wyer of Ripon; Mrs. Henry (Margaret) Butler of Anaheim, Calif.; Mrs. Harry (Patsy) Madison of Chicago, Ill.; Miss Jonette Sturgeon of Anaheim, Calif.; George W., James, and Merrill Gault of Superior; Sgt. Raymond Gault with the Army in Viet Nam; and Stephen Gault of Bristol, Rhode Island.

Other survivors are: a sister, Mrs. William (Leona) Hughes of Milwaukee, and 23 grandchildren.

The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Pallbearers were: Alfred Dux, Leslie Keuer, Forrest Gault, Gerald Hart, Rex Krejci, and Henry Wasserburger.

People from away attending were: Mr. and Mrs. John Wyer and family of Ripon; Mrs. Henry Butler and Miss Jonette Sturgeon of Anaheim, Calif.; Stephen Gault of Bristol, Rhode Island; Sgt. Raymond Gault, U.S. Army in Viet Nam; Mr. and Mrs. George Gault, Mr. and Mrs. James Gault, of Superior; Mr. and Mrs. William Hughes, William Hughes, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Danihel and family, all of Milwaukee; Mrs. LaVern Garety and Danny, Mrs. Ruth Ingersoll and Donlesa, of Sullivan; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Farning, of Colby; Mrs. Erlin Dahl, Mrs. Duane Anding and Mrs. Evelyn Dimen of Granton; and Mrs. Henry Middleton of Beaver Dam.
