Life of Major Glass

George D. (Major) Glass, who was interred in the Neillsville cemetery last Thursday, was born July 20, 1883, at Neillsville to Louis J. and Cornelia (Trumbell) Glass. He received his education in the Neillsville schools. He joined the Wisconsin national guard, Co. A. , of which he was a member for several years. When they went into active service in World War I, Mr. Glass was discharged. Since 1933 he had been associated with his brother-in-law in the painting business. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge, No. 198, of Neillsville.

He never married and is survived by a sister, Mrs. William (Daisy) Dahnert of Neillsville, and his brothers-in-law, Robert Thompson and Wm. F. Dahnert of Neillsville, and the following nieces: Mrs. Don (Polly) Speich, Eau Claire; Mrs. H. V. (Mercedes) Ballam, Milwaukee; Mrs. John (Frances) Fehr, Fargo, ND.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Robert (Laura) Thompson, and four brothers, Fred, Frank, Elmer, and Robert Glass. In the great haste of closing last week's Press an error was made about the place of the funeral. The notice should have given the Georgas funeral home as the place. Officiating was the Rev. Frank B. Harcey of the Congregational church. The editors apologize to their readers and friends who may have been occasioned inconvenience.
