Schlinkert, Ella (1 DEC 1899 - 2 DEC 1987)

Mount Horeb, Wis. - Ella Schlinkert, 88, formerly of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., died Wednesday at the Ingleside Nursing Home in Mount Horeb.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the Ellestad Funeral Home in Mount Horeb. The Rev. Bill Redman will officiate. Graveside rites will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Neillsville Cemetery, with the Rev. Joe Kraly officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Ellestad Funeral Home, Mount Horeb.

She was born Dec. 1, 1899 in Watertown, to Frank and Emilie Zichert Sr.

She attended the "Uncle Sam" rural school and St. John's Lutheran Parochial School. Following her education, they moved to a farm in the town of Weston.

She married Theodore Schlinkert on Nov. 12, 1919 in Neillsville.

They operated a garage in Neillsville and Owen for a number of years. In 1969, they celebrated their 50th anniversary.

She was a member of Mount Horeb Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Guild Society.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George (Bernadine) Johnson of Mount Horeb; two sons in Arizona; five granddaughters, two grandsons, six great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.

She was predeceased by her husband, a son Herbert, her parents, a brother, Frank and two sisters, Clara and Hattie.
