Strangfeld, Elizabeth 'Libby' Amelia Augusta (16 July 1906 - 24 Jan. 2005)
NEILLSVILLE -Elizabeth "Libby" Strangfeld, 98, of Neillsville died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at the Memorial Nursing Home in Neillsville.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at Pine Valley Lutheran Church. Interment will be in North Pine Valley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at the church. Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Libby's family with funeral arrangements.
Elizabeth Amelia Augusta Glasow was born July 16, 1906, in the town of Weston, Clark County. Prior to marriage, she taught at Blackberry School in Willard. She was united in marriage to John Strangfeld on March 19, 1926, in Neillsville. He preceded her in death. After their marriage, Libby raised their family and helped with the farming. They purchased their farm in 1942 and in 1943 they moved onto the farm. Libby would return to teaching at Hewittville School and later at Hillside School. She retired in 1950.
She is survived by two daughters, Alice Sischo, Neillsville, and Elaine Quast, Sparta; one son, Herman (Jackie) Strangfeld, Neillsville; nine grandchilden, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchilden.
