Esper, Donald A. (1929 - 28 Jan. 2005) w/flag Donald "Donnie" A. Esper, 75, of Dorchester died Jan. 28, 2005.

Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of services on Monday at the Maurina Funeral Home. Burial, with full military rites by the Colby VFW Post No. 2227, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Donald Esper

Donald "Donnie" A. Esper, 75, of Dorchester passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Jan. 28, 2005.

Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 4 p.m. until time of services on Monday at the Maurina Funeral Home. Burial, with full military rites by the Colby VFW Post No. 2227, will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Donald A. Esper was born on Dec. 20, 1929, in Dearborn, Mich., the son of Lawrence and Vernice (Wright) Esper. He attended school in Carleton, Mich. Don served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Chandler DD 717 from 1950 to 1954. Don and Alice Jaworski were united in marriage on Sept. 22, 1956. The family moved to Wisconsin in 1976 and farmed in the Colby area. He also was employed with Holtz Feed Mill in Abbotsford for eight years. Don and Alice enjoyed dancing, playing cards, visiting the casino's and spending time with family and friends.

Don will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Alice Esper, of Dorchester; three sons, Kenn Esper of Dorchester, Kevin (Shelby) Esper of Rib Lake and Keith (Patty) Esper of Byrdstown, Tenn.; three daughters Karen (Kevin) Duvall of Bruce, Konnie (Thor) Thompson of Monroe and Kriss (Scott) Miller of Green Bay; four brothers Lawrence, Ron, Dick and Alan, and one sister, Leona Bruck, all of Michigan; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and special family friend Gene Wehrman.

"Don was a devoted and loving husband, Dad and Grandpa, and will be truly missed by all."
