Osowski, Thomas R. (13 Dec. 1924 - 8 Feb. 2005)

w/flag THORP -Thomas R. Osowski, 80, of Thorp died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley of respiratory arrest.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp with burial in New St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a combined parish and Knights of Columbus rosary service at 7:30 p.m., today at Thorp Funeral Home.

He was born Dec. 13, 1924, in rural Thorp to Vincent and Frances (Ciecora) Osowski. He served in the U.S. Marine Morps during World War II. Tom married Laurencia "Laurie" Staron on June 1, 1952. The couple farmed for 45 years in rural Thorp before their retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie; his children, Cynthia (Kenneth) Loos, Loyal, Doreen (George) Neil, Williamsburg, Va., Gregory (Diane) Osowski, White Bear Lake, Minn., Nancy (Mark) Haferman, Marshfield, Pamela (James) Hayden, Carrollton, Texas, Mark (Ann) Osowski, Mequon, Marie Osowski, Buchanan Dam, Texas, Kenneth Osowski, Onalaska, Jennifer (Dennis) Postler, Bloomington, Minn., Michael (Janelle) Osowski, Hartland, Julie Gumz, Onalaska, Bridget (Jason) Akey, Eagan, Minn., Keith Osowski, Hillsboro, Ore., and Kevin (AJ) Klein Osowski, Austin, Texas; and 26 grandchildren.

Thomas R. Osowski  is buried in the cemetery behind St. Hedwig's Church,

in a Polish settlement known as "Poznan".  It is located 2 miles East of Thorp, Wisconsin on County Rd. X.
