E. R. Lemke Dies At Greenwood

Rites Wednesday for Ex-Marshfield Man

Greenwood Emil Reinhart Lemke, 70, former Marshfield resident, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 8:35 a.m. Monday at his home here. He was born in Manitowoc, June 11, 1885.

Mr. Lemke, who moved here in 1948, had reside in Marshfield from 1913 to 1948, with the exception of five years which he spent in Dorchester, Park Falls and Denver, Colo. He was employed as a carpenter with the Krasin Bros. Construction Co. at Marshfield for many years. He was affiliated with the former St. Matthew's Lutheran Church of that city.

On June 28, 1913, he was married at Dorchester to Amelia Behring, who died April 19, 1919. His second marriage, to Hannah Schafner [Schaeffner], took place at Loyal on Nov. 25, 1923.

He is survived by the widow and three children of his first marriage, Harvey Lemke and Virginia Lemke, Fond du Lac, and Raymond Lemke; Madison; three grandchildren and six half-brothers and half-sisters, Herman Schlieve, Mrs. Ed Wollenberg, both of Tigerton, Mrs. Henry Huycke, Menasha, Mrs. Ferd Kitzman, Big Falls, Elmer Schlieve, Juneau, and George Schlieve, Green Bay.

Preceding him in death were a son by his second marriage, Robert, who died in 1940, and one half-sister, Esther.

Friends may call the local Stabnow Funeral Home, where final services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. B. F. Matter, of the American Lutheran Church of Wausau, will officiate. Interment will take place in Hillside cemetery at Marshfield.
