Lucille ‘Lucy' M Marvin, age 82, Merrillan, died Thursday Jan. 30, 2003, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

She was born Oct. 1, 1920, in the Town of Eaton, Clark County, to parents, Fred and Charlotte (Stoneburg) Francis. She married Alton ‘Mike' Marvin on Sept. 5, 1938, in Black River Falls and they lived in Merrillan. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1970. Lucy was employed as a clerk at Dale's IGA in Merrillan for many years.

Lucy was a member of the Merrillan United Methodist Church and the Merrillan American Legion Auxiliary. Her home was always open to family and friends, and she was known to provide meals to many who rode the rails through Merrillan in years past. She enjoyed bird watching and playing cards. Besides her husband Mike, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Marvin; one daughter Delores ‘Dee' Jingle; six brothers and four sisters.

Surviving Lucy is one son, Jerry (Luann) Marvin of Kenosha; three daughters, Elaine (Alan) Young, Judy Eddy of Merrillan and Debbie (Dennis Schultz) Marvin of Greenwood; two sisters, Jean Buettner of Hackensack, MN and Martha (Eddie) Harycki of Milwaukee; two sisters-in-law, Schryl Francis of Hales Corners and Marjie Morse of Creswell, OR; one brother-in-law, Albert Dancker of East Troy; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Lucille ‘Lucy' M Marvin were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at the Merrillan United Methodist Church with Rev. Meg Erickson officiating. Burial took place in Oakwood Cemetery, Merrillan. Friends called at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton, on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church.

Casket bearers were Alan Young, Jr., Jay Young, David Eddy, Steven Eddy, Mark Jingle and Jacob DeMoe.
