REINHOLD A PRETSCH

Surnames: Pretsch, Sawall, Lloyd

Reinhold August Pretsch passed away at his home in the Town of Hewett Thursday, April 7, 1938*, at 9 a.m. at the age of 79, having suffered with cancer and heart trouble for the past several months.

Mr. Pretsch was born in New York State Feb. 10, 1859, and was married to Lottie Clara Sawall in Sauk County, WI in 1893. In the fall of 1916 they came to Clark County and purchased the Berton Wells farm, where they lived for two years. Twenty years ago they moved onto the farm where the family still resides.

Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Pretsch, Fred, of the Town of Washburn; Howard of Spring Green; Reinhold, at home; and Mary (Byno) Lloyd, Pine Valley. Surviving Reinhold is his wife, Lottie and his children and one brother.

Reinhold had been a farmer all his life. He was a good citizen, a loving husband and father and an excellent neighbor.

Funeral services were held at Schiller's Funeral Home Sunday April 10, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating. Interment took place in the south Pine Valley Cemetery.

(*According to age at death and birth date I figure this is 1938, as no date is given on the clipping from an old scrapbook of my grandmother. Also, I do not have a name of the newspaper, but possibly, The Neillsville Press. Dolores)

My great grandfather's name was Reinhold Pretsch. His son, Fred, was my grandfather. Unfortunately I think I was born after he had passed away. My father's name was Elmer Pretsch. Not sure where this e-mail goes, but would like to hear from any of the Pretsch family.  Norma Catt,  texcatt2804@sbcglobal.com
