Robert C Subke, age 74, passed away on December 17, 2001 at the Valley Health Care Center in Hayward.

Robert Casper Subke was born on July 20, 1927, to Fred and Ella (Weeks) Subke in Neillsville. He attended the Meadow View Grade School in the Township of Levis in Clark County, and he graduated from Neillsville High School in 1945.

He entered the Navy in Aug. 1945 and was discharged in Aug. 1946. Next he attended Beauty School in Milwaukee. He spent many years of his life working in California, as a beautician.

During the late 1970's and early 1980's he had a hair salon called Bob's Hair Design in Neillsville. He was also an accomplished pianist.

When he retired he lived in Fond du Lac and later moved to Hayward where he resided until his death.

Surviving Robert is one sister, Dorothy (Martin) Kalina of Merrillan, two sisters-in-law, Laura Subke of Neillsville and Donna Subke of Fond du Lac and also several nieces and nephews.

His father and mother and two brothers, John and Fred, preceded him in death.

There will be a memorial service at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville on March 23, at 10:30 a.m. with interment in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
