Golomski, Bernice 'Barney' Evelyn (15 Sept. 1922 - 21 Feb. 2005)
NEILLSVILLE -Bernice "Barney" E. Golomski, 82, of Neillsville died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Very Rev. Father Woodrow Pace will officiate.
Providing music will be Ronald Resong, organist, and St. Mary's Choir. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation time will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bernice Evelyn Golomski was born Sept. 15, 1922, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Barwig) Nigbur in Bevent, Marathon County. She attended the Coolidge Elementary School. After her schooling, she went to Milwaukee, where she worked in a factory. She met her husband-to-be, Ed, in Milwaukee and they were married on Feb. 7, 1942. They continued to live in Milwaukee, where they raised their family of six sons. In 1970, they moved to Neillsville. Bernice worked at the foundry for a few years. Ed died on Aug. 25, 1976. Bernice continued to live and work in Neillsville. She worked for Neillsville School District food program, bringing smiles and laughs to the children and staff she worked with daily. Bernice retired in May 1995.
Bernice is survived by her six sons, Ken (Monica) Golomski and their son Casey of Green Bay, Russ (Colleen) Golomski and their daughter Elizabeth of Wauwatosa, Glenn (Julie) Golomski of Janesville, Dennis (Lori) Golomski and their children, Katey and Eddie of Milwaukee, Marlin (Lori) Golomski and their children, Zach and Lucas of Menomonee Falls, and Gary (Carrie) Golomski of Neillsville.
She is further survived by a sister, Louise Rombalski of Bevent.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; her parents; five sisters; and five brothers.
