Shupe, Nellie (3 JUL 1929)

A quiet wedding was held Wednesday, July 3rd at 5:00 in the afternoon when Miss Nellie Shupe, daughter of Mrs. Julie Shupe, of this village and Mr. Lawrence Davel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Davel of this village were married in Milwaukee.

The young couple are well known here having lived here many years and both graduated from the Loyal High School. The bride graduated from State Teachers College at Stevens Point and taught two years at Curtiss and one year at Independence. She is a lovely, talented young lady. The groom is an ambitious young man of fine character and held in high esteem by all who know him. He is employed in tht brokerage firm of Paine, Weber and Co. at Milwaukee in which city they will reside.

The newlyweds came to Loyal after the wedding, and Friday evening were entertained at a miscellaneous shower, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Raab. Forty guests were present and the couple were recipients of many lovely gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Davel have a legion of friends who join the Tribune in extending hearty congratulations for a long and happy journey upon the sea of matrimony.
