Halle, Arnold J. (10 Mar 1919 - 14 Feb 2005)

Arnold J. Halle, 85, Neillsville, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at the Memorial Nursing home, Neillsville. Funeral Services were held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18, at the Geshe Funeral Home, Neillsville. The Rev. Wendell Williams officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood City Cemetery, Greenwood.. Honorary pallbearers were Dave Masters and Paul Guillaume. Pall bearers were Michael Gerber, Mark Gerber, Micki Gerber, Craig Kurasz, Gary Anason and Mike Ehlers.

Arnold Joseph Halle was born on March 10, 1919, in the town of Eaton to Hugo and Amelia (nee Ehlenbeck) Halle. He attended the Christie School. After his schooling, he worked at a logging camp, he did some part time work for the township, trained horses and worked on the family dairy farm eventually taking over the farm. Every Saturday and Sunday he would go roller skating and dancing and that is where he met his wife. He married Elsie Pfefferkorn on Sept. 19, 1942. He enjoyed training and riding horses and was a member of the Saddle Tramps. He rode in many parades. He also loved fishing, traveling and hunting.

Survivors include his children, Mary Ann Halle Gerber, Rockford, Ill., Joan (Lee) Halle Kurasz, Neillsville, and Arnold Glenn (Dinna) Halle, Neillsville: 10 grandchildren, Michael ( Sarah) Gerber, Tonopah, Nev., Michelle (Tom) Minnihan, Belvidere, Ill., Mark Gerber, Dallas, Texas, Micki Gerber, Tacoma, Wash., Mindeya Gerber, Huntington Beach, Calif., Craig Kurasz, Neillsville, Lynette (Gary) Anason, Neillsville, Brenda (Mike) Ehlers, Neillsville, granddaughters-in-law, Rosemary Kurasz, Neillsville, Krista Halle, Neillsville, and Kathryn Halle, Neillsville; great-grandchildren, Michael Minnehan, Raquel Dahlen, Eric Larson, Jeremy Kurasz, Jolene Kurasz, Katrina Kurasz, Joshua Anason and Zachary Anason: two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Adella Allen, West Hills, Calif., and Martha Ebbe, Santa Monica, Calif.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Elsie; his parents; his brothers and sisters, Anita Shaw, Elfrieda Mary Jones, Sylvia Halle, Oscar Halle, Helmuth Halle, Roman Halle, Clarence Halle and and Mildred Galbreath; and a grandson, John Kurasz.

The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
