Bury, Rosie Lee (*15 June 1916 - 30 June 2004) *from SSDI

Rosie Lee Bury passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 30, 2004, after a short, courageous battle with cancer.

She had a beautiful spring, planting her flowers and garden with the assistance of her great-grandson, Brandon Franz. She held a picnic in her yard to celebrate her 88th birthday on June 15 with her children and grandchildren.

Rosie Lee Twait Bury was born in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, to H.M. and Janet Whitman on June 15, 1916. She relocated to Wisconsin in 1938. She married Fred S. Twait in January 1939 in Greenwood.

She is survived by four children, Patricia A. Richers of Wheaton, Ill., Edythe M. Gukenberger of Plover, A. Howard (Susan) Twait of Wisconsin Rapids, and Freda R. Pryga of Wauconda, Ill. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Rosie was predeceased by her parents, four brothers, one sister, her husband, Fred Twait, and one grandson, Jason Gukenberger.

In lieu of flowers, memorials May be designated in her name to Riverview Health Care Foundation for the UW Cancer Center-Riverview, or to First English Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids.

There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev. Kenneth Hansen officiating.

Higgins Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, assisted the family.
