Minard, Lucy (? - 19 Dec 1879)

Died, at her home in the village of Spencer, Wis., on Friday, the 19th inst., Mrs. Lucy Minard.

Sister Minard was married to her now bereaved husband one year ago. Shortly after her marriage, she was converted to God, and with her husband joined the M. E. Church, of which she continued a faithful member up to the time of her death. She was a woman of rare worth. Although retiring in her disposition, still she shrank from no duty that seemed to devolve upon her to perform. Her home was largely the field of her labor, and well did she succeed in making it no only pleasant to her family, but for all who enjoyed her hospitality.

In the death of Sister Minard, society has lost a noble woman, the church a faithful member and her husband a true wife.

She was sick only twenty-three hours; in this short time she was called from labor to reward, but death found her ready; she died as all true Christians die, full of faith and hope, trusting to Him who had kept her life to save her in death. A little babe two days old was laid upon her breast in the same coffin to wait until the Resurrection Morn shall dawn upon a slumbering world.

The tenderest sympathy of all who knew her are given to the sorrowing husband an all the mourning friends.
