Kuhn, Robert Edward (23 Sept. 1883 - 19 Feb. 1934)

Robert Edward Kuhn was born at Thiensville, Wis., on September 23, 1883. In 1904 he came to Clark County with his parents, who settled on a farm near Shortville. On July 6, 1912, he was united in marriage to Malvina Netzel at Waukegan, Ill., and since that time they lived on their farm in the town of Washburn. The family was blessed with five children, George, Bernhard, Robert, Gertrude and Luella. He came to his tragic death Monday evening, February 19, and reached the age of 50 years, four months and 26 days. It was a hard blow and fills us all with deep sorrow to have a kind husband and father and a helpful friend and neighbor snatched out of this life so suddenly.

Beside his wife and five children deceased leaves two brothers and many relatives and friends to mourn his death.

I would ask all of you to make the words of a poet your prayer as follows:

Jesus, I my cross have taken, All to leave and follow Thee; Destitute, despised, forsaken, Thou from hence my all shalt be; Perish every fond ambition, All I’ve sought and hoped, or known; Yet how rich is my condition, God and heaven are still my own.

Go then, earthly fame and treasure! Come disaster, scorn and pain! In Thy service pain is pleasure; with Thy favor, loss is gain. I have called Thee, Abba Father; I have stayed my heart on Thee; Storms may howl and clouds may gather, All must work for Good to me.

Scripture lesson: Psalm 102, verses 23 - 28. Text: 1, Timothy, 2, 4.

Hymns: ‘All the Way My Savior Leads Me," Face to Face", and "Saved by Grace."

The pallbearers were Willie Carstensen, Kurt Schroeder, Ed.and Frank Short, Herman Riedel and Frank Matousek.

Those from away who attended the funeral of **Paul Kuhn were: Mrs. Ed. Mayer and daughter, Dorothy, and son Adelbert Pound, Wis., Mr. Albert Foland, Theinsville, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Janisch and son, Kurt, of Chicago, and Emery Foland of Theinsville.

**This is the way it was in the original obituary; should be Robert Kuhn.

The card of thanks as published last week was incomplete. The Press gladly makes the correction as follows:
