Peterson, Josephine Elizabeth (5 Oct. 1916 - 6 May 2005)

Josephine E. Peterson, 88 of Greenwood died Friday, May 6, 2005, in the Palliative Care Unit at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church, Greenwood. Burial will follow in Greenwood City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

She was born Oct. 5, 1916, to Frank and Antonia (Primc) Raik in Sheboygan.

She attended Decker School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1935. She married Lloyd Peterson on June 17, 1936. They farmed south of Greenwood until retiring in 1980. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church and T.O.P.S.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd of Greenwood; one daughter, Jo Ann (Wayne) Voss of Granton; three grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.

Josephine Peterson

GREENWOOD - Josephine E. Peterson, 88, of Greenwood died Friday, May 6, 2005, in the Palliative Care Unit at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Craig Conklin will officiate and burial will follow in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Voss, James Voss, Jerry Voss, Lee Voss, Dawn Voss, Ryan Voss, Erin Voss, Sam Voss and Miles Voss.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Josephine Elizabeth Raik was born Oct. 5, 1916, in Sheboygan, the daughter of Frank and Antonia (Primc) Raik. When she was 3 years old, her family moved to a farm north of Greenwood. Josephine attended Decker School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1935. On June 17, 1936, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Peterson at the Grace United Methodist Church Parsonage in Greenwood. They farmed south of Greenwood on his home farm until retiring in 1980, at which time they moved into Greenwood. They enjoyed many bus tours all over the states and Canada, and also traveled to Hawaii, Europe and the Caribbean. Josephine was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church and a member of T.O.P.S. She also had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons and great-grandchildren, gardening and flowers.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Lloyd of Greenwood; one daughter, Jo Ann (Wayne) Voss of Granton; three grandsons, Jeff (Lee) Voss of Minocqua, James (Dawn) Voss of Neillsville and Jerry (Stephanie) Voss of Appleton; and six great-grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Sam, Miles, Ali and Emma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry; three brothers, Frank, Louis and Joseph; and four sisters, Angline, Antonia, Donie and Eleanor.
