Arla was born Aug. 10, 1935, in Clark County, a daughter of Oscar and Alta (Stevens) Lindekugel. She attended Taft Elementary and graduated from Loyal High School. Prior to her marriage, she worked at Weinbrenner Shoes.

On Sept. 29, 1956, the former Arla Lindekugel was united in holy marriage to Earl O. Krings. The couple farmed in the town of Green Valley from 1976 to 1998. In addition to being a homemaker, mother and farm wife, Arla also worked outside the home. She worked at the Marshfield Clinic, Northern Auto and Heinzen Printing Company.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Earl Krings, Marshfield; daughter, Sue (James) Nelson, Marshfield; and son, Paul (Karen) Krings, Auburndale; and three grandchildren, Jena Nelson, Forrest and Elizabeth Krings. A sister, Donna Mae (Eugene) Lucht, Spencer; mother-in-law, Margaret Krings, Marshfield; and a sister-in-law, Janice Niemi, Loyal, further survive Arla.

One brother, Dale Lindekugel, and her parents preceded her in death.
