Weyer, Cecilia (20 Dec. 1922 - 7 July 2005)

SPENCER -Cecilia Weyer, 82, of Spencer, died Thursday, July 7, 2005, at her home in Spencer.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2005, at Christ the King Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Tripoli. Pallbearers will be Jeff Weyer, Kurt Witmer, Travis Knauf, Tyler Knauf, Dustin Dix and Aaron Weyer.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Community Funeral Home in Spencer, where there will be a 4 p.m. Rosary service. Visitation will be again from 9 a.m. to service time Monday at the church.

Cecilia was born Dec. 20, 1922, in Marshfield to Benjamin and Nellie (Steffen) Tasse. She married Richard Weyer, Sr. on June 6, 1944, at Corpus Christi Church in Bakerville. She was a homemaker and farm wife in the Loyal area with her husband. In 1977 they moved to Pier Lake where she was a site manager for senior citizens meals for several years. In 1991 she moved to Spencer. She was a caretaker for the elderly in Pier Lake and Spencer.

Cecilia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening especially working with her flowers. Family get togethers were special to her.

The "Special" baked goods and treats she sent home (especially at Christmas) were special to her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane (Harry) Witmer of Spencer and Lori (Donald) Knauf of Wausau; and five sons, Donald (Rosanne) Weyer of Sun City, Ariz., Gerald (Valerie) Weyer of Buffalo, Minn., Eugene Weyer (Betty Ockerl) of Marshfield, Allen (Kathy) Weyer of Spencer and Walter Weyer of Loyal. Survivors also include grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Brenda (Tom) Dix, Brittney and Dustin; Tammy (Jay) Halfacre, Drake and Kacela; Renee (Kevin) Locke, Sage; Chris Weyer, Conlan; Kim (Chad) Bauer, Grace, Leah and Elise; Terri (Scott Satersmoen) Witmer; Kurt Witmer; Alicia Weyer; Amanda Weyer; Jessica (John) Koopman, Victor, Vanessa, Lauren and Charity; Jeff (Holly Nikolai) Weyer, Jeff's daughter, Jade, and Holly's children, Ashley and Samantha; Sarah (Andy) Firkus, Hunter; Aaron Weyer, Conlin; Ashley Weyer; Travis Knauf; Tyler Knauf; stepgrandchild, Lisa Newton; two sisters, Delores Czaikowski of Stevens Point, Innocence Rhodes of Marshfield; and two brothers, Gregory Tasse of Aurora, Colo., and Sylvester Tasse of Marshfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard ,Sr.; two sons, Richard Weyer Jr., Benjamin Weyer; daughter Lisa Weyer; and two brothers, Edwin and Cyril Tasse.

The family wishes to extend appreciation to the Ministry Home Care Hospice Staff for all the caring and support shown to our mother and our family.
