Rupnow, CHARLES F "Chuck" (13 Aug. 1935 - 29 May 2005)

Charles F. "Chuck" Rupnow, age 69, of Humbird died Sunday, May 29, 2005, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, from complications of cancer.

He was born Aug. 13, 1935, on the home farm in Mentor Township, Clark County, to Fred and Esther (Kohrt) Rupnow. He lived in the Humbird area all his life with the exception of his military service, when he served four years in the U.S. Navy.

He married Gloria Larson July 13, 1958, on the Rupnow farm in Humbird.

He was employed at Nelson Muffler and at Presto Industries in Eau Claire. He worked at the Jackson County Iron Mine for 15 years. He was also employed at Quick Electric and Federation Cooperative and he worked at the Majestic Pines Casino for 10 years. He retired in April of 2004.

Chuck enjoyed outdoor activities and his favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, bird watching, and cutting wood.

Surviving Chuck is his wife, Gloria; two daughters, Cynthia (Bruce) Walter and Kay (Larry) Austad, both of Humbird; one brother, Melvin (Ginger) Rupnow of Humbird; one granddaughter, April (Wes) Walikonis of Alma Center; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by one sister, Bertha Correll of Poynette.

Funeral services for Charles F "Chuck" Rupnow will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2005, at the United Methodist Church, Merrillan, with Rev. Meg Erickson officiating. Burial will take place in Mentor Cemetery, rural Humbird, with military rites by the Humbird American Legion Post #320. Friends May call at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton, Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church.

Casketbearers will be Dan Collum, Devin Lunderville, Wayne Lunderville, Pat Labarbera, Chris Winson and Dan Winson.
