Quast, LOUIS M. "LOUIE" (31 Oct. 1936 - 7 June 2005)

Louis M "Louie" Quast, age 68, of Alma Center died Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at the Country Terrace of Wisconsin, Black River Falls.

He was born Oct. 31, 1936, near Neillsville to parents Henry and Ruth (Currier) Quast. He graduated from Neillsville High School in 1954. He served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1958. He married Diane Heath and they later divorced.

Louie was employed as an auto mechanic at service stations in Alma Center and Pigeon Falls. He also worked as a mechanic for Howard Gilles in Taylor and Bob Moore in Hixton. His favorite hobbies included reading, collecting model trains and tinkering with mechanical things.

Surviving is one son, Michael (Dawn) Quast of Illinois, and one daughter, Stacy (Ron) Goldsmith of Merrillan; one brother, Jon (Betty) Quast of Eau Claire; four sisters, Bertha Cram of Oshkosh, Edna (Bucky) Wagner of Manitowoc, Betty (Doug) Oliver of Alma Center and June Christopherson of Alma Center; besides other relatives and friends.

Preceding Louie in death was one brother, Henry Quast, Jr.

Funeral services for Louis M. "Louie" Quast will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2005, at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton, with Minister Bob Hoppe officiating. Burial will take place in East Lawn Cemetery, Alma Center, with military rites by the Alma Center VFW Post 8494. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
