Schuette, Anne (3 Sept. 1865 - 28 Sept. 1943) *Dates taken from the Cemetery Index of the St. Luke’s Cemetery.
UNITY, WIS. - Mrs. Henry Schuette, who was 78 years old on Sept. 3, and a resident of Unity the past 33 years, died at 10:35 o’clock Tuesday evening at Antigo Memorial Hospital. She became ill at Antigo, where she went last Friday to visit her 82-year-old brother, William Rehling.
Relatives here were notified, and on Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Schuette and son, Merlin, Arthur Schuette, and Henry Schuette Jr., went to Antigo. The body will arrive in Unity tomorrow to lie in state at the Schuette home, 7 ½ miles west of Unity, until the time of the funeral services.
The Rev. M. C. Goetsch will officiate at the 1 o’clock service at the Goetsch home and at the 2 o’clock service at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at South Green Grove. Interment will be made in the Green Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Schuette, nee Anne Rehling, was born in Germany and came to America when she was three years old. She was married at Manitowoc in March, 1889, to Henry Schuette, the Schuettes living there until 1910, when they came to their present farm.
Surviving besides her husband are five sons, Henry at home, Walter of Neenah, Hugo of Unity, Arthur of Colby, and Edwin of Manitowoc; a brother, William Rehling, Antigo; a stepsister, Mrs. Augusta Goetsch, Fond du Lac; 25 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. One grandson in the Navy and another in the Army.
Two children also preceded her in death.
