Birth:1837 (census 1870 & 1880)
Place: Moor, Canada
Wife: Emma Smith
Married: 24 June 1866 Loyal, Clark, Wisconsin (Marriage certificate )
Children (1880 census Loyal, Clark, Wisconsin) May, Viola*, Judson*, Elsie*, James was listed on census as a son but no body knows anything about him) and/or Jane* maybe both we know there was a Jane daughter and she was listed in the Probate but not on census, Martha was not on 1880 census she was born 1881).
Family information about James Parker death: James Parker accidentally shot himself with his gun or rifle while trying to break ice in a river or lake to get water for his family. My grandmother said he died of a gun shot wounded but not from the Civil War. He was in the Civil War but have nothing to prove it only what my grandmother said.
I do not have a death certificate or an obituary on him at this time. I have a hard time reading the date on the headstone picture of his marker.
The children with aster (*) after there names are the ones mentioned in the probate files.
Ok according to the Probate Records: The date of the probate is 26 January 1885 The probate records say he died in the county poor house last April (that would make it in the year 1884)
Part of Probate Record hard to read: Ira Fike being +++ sworn an oath say I am now the superintendent of the County Poor house of Clark County Wis. and have been Such superintendent for the last year. I have know Elsie and Jane Parker since March 1883 Elsie Parker is eight year of age and Jane is Six years old they are sister and have been since March 1884 in my custody as such Superintendent. Their Father died in the County Poor house last April
On Judson Parker paper it said county poor farm instead of county poor house were they both the same?
I tried enlarging the picture of the headstone but can only make out the name and April. It doesn't look like I will be coming that way any time soon.
