Edward Struensee, 89, of the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, passed away on Sunday, Oct.8 1995 at 9:45 a.m., at the Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Oct.11, at the United Church of Christ with Pastor Gene Lackore officiating. Burial will be in Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Counsell, Lloyd Meyer, Ronnie Meyer, Darrell Struensee, Robert Struensee and Dale Meyer. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Struensee.
Visitation was Tuesday, Oct.10 from 6p.m. to 9 p.m. at Gesche Funeral Home and again on Wednesday, Oct.11 one hour prior to the service at the church.
Struensee was born Aug.19, 1906 to Joseph and Tina (Prokop) Struensee in Oshkosh, Wis. He received his education in Levis school.
He married Irene Metcalf on Dec.28, 1927 in Neillsville. After their marriage they farmed in the town of Weston until 1931 when they moved to a farm in the town of Pine Valley. During that time he worked for eight years for Fort McCoy as a tractor operator for the Post Engineers Section. He left the farm in 1992. At that time he entered the Clark County Health Center in Owen, Wis., where he lived until the time of his death. He enjoyed fishing and hunting for hobbies.
Struensee is survived by his two sons; Harold "Harry" (Isabelle) Struensee, Granton, Wis., and Calvin E. (Annie) Struensee, Miami Springs, Fla.; one sister Blanche Lebeck, Cicero, Ill.; one grandchild, Micheal, Dallas, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife Irene, who died in 1974, one son Dennis, who died in April of 1975,and one brother, Joseph ‘Bud" Struensee, who died Nov. 29, 1994.
