Meier, Kenneth L. (10 Nov. 1944 – 15 July 2005)

Kenneth L. Meier, 60, of Eau Claire died July 15, 2005, as the result of a heart attack.

He was born November 10, 1944, in Neillsville to Inez (Jenni) and Louis Meier. He grew up in Neillsville and graduated from Neillsville High School.

He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, earning a degree in accounting.

Ken was a self-employed accountant for most of his career. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.

Survivors include his mother, Inez Meier of Neillsville; daughter, Michelle (Brian) Nelson of Eau Claire; son, Alan Meier of Alfred, N.Y.; fiancée, Deanna "Dea" Green of Eau Claire; her family, Nathan (Charlene) Moen of Colorado and Tasha Moen of Eau Claire; five grandchildren, Amanda, Hannah and Madison Meier, and Allison and Lucas Nelson; a sister, Marilyn (Ken) Krause of Neillsville; two brothers, David (Donna) Meier of Eau Claire and Jim (Rose) Meier of Gresham; nieces and nephews.

His father preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, with the Rev. Herbert Prahl officiating.

Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, town of Washington.

Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, at Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home, Eau Claire, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Ken’s love for flowers and gardening shows from his home to his office. Family vacations have left many special memories. He loved spending the winters with Dea at Siesta Key, one of his favorite places. Most of all he enjoyed his "coffee breaks" at the Olympic Flame. The hearts of everyone who knew Ken have been touched forever. He will be dearly missed by all.
