Newell, Clara (Marriage - 20 MAR 1915)
Mr. Willis Enhelder of the town of Weston, Clark County and Miss Clara Newel of Neillsville were married at the M.E. Parsonage Saturday morning, March 20, 1915, Rev. L.B. Colman officiating. The groom is an energetic and successful young farmer. While carrying on all lines of farming he specializes in pure bred horses and is making a good record in that line. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Newell and is well known here. When her parents lived in Wausau she graduated there from the high school, also from the Teachers Training School. After teaching ayear at Wausau she came to Neillsville, her parents having returned to live here; and this year has been teacher the La Fleur or Mound School in Weston.. She is a young lady of fine scholarship and character and well liked by all who know her. They begin housekeeping at once at the groom’s farm. The popularity of this young couple was well shown by the friendly attitude of their Neillsville friends, nearly every business man in the city sending them some token of their friendship. We join in wishing them a happy life.
***Neillsville Church records show Willis was 33 yrs. old and his bride was 22 yrs. of age. He was born in Greenwood, WI and she was born in Neillsville. The newly married (same day) LeRoy G. & Ida M. (Newell) Cunningham served as witnesses.
