       HOMER M. ROOT--COUNTY CLERK

Mr. Homer M. Root of Chenango county, N. Y. came to Clark County in 1869, and engaged in the lumbering business. In 1874 he went into partnership with B. F. Thompson. Since that time the firm has been engaged extensively in logging the northern part of the county. They also have a large farm in the town of Warner, near the village of Greenwood, where Mr. Root's residence is. In 1888 he was elected county clerk, and has perfomed the duties of that office to the entire satisfaction of the people of Clark County. His temporary residence, since his election, has been at Neillsville, the Clark County, Wiscsonsin seat of government.
