Alton, Elda A. (18 MAR 1896 - 21 Feb 1908)

Elda Avis Alton, daughter of George and Sadie Alton, died of pneumonia at her home on Friday, Feb. 21st, 1908. She was born in Greenwood, Clark County, Wis. on the 18th of March, 1896. Her death was unexpected, no one being aware of its nearness until she quietly passed away.

She was a member of the Methodist Sunday school and not only attended regularly, but was very interested in the services and sought faithfully to live a Christian life. All who knew her bear testimony to the loving spirit she had and the readiness she always showed in helping others. She will be sadly missed in the home where she made herself invaluable to her parents in the willing manner she assisted in all the household duties. She has gone early to her reward, but has left behind her the memory of a life of loving acts that will always point heavenward to the home which she herself has reached.

The funeral services were held in the Methodist Church on Sunday, Feb. 23 and were very largely attended. Her Sunday school class formed the choir at the services and also supplied pallbearers.
